TRAFFIC SHIFT IN 2024: Construction Begins in Early 2024 to Narrow Ridge Pike to Two Lanes in Plymouth Township

The Montgomery County Commissioners announced today that the traffic shift required to replace the bridge over a Norfolk Southern Railroad Spur has been postponed until January 2024 to allow completion of water line relocation in the work zone.

The traffic shift will narrow Ridge Pike to one lane in each direction between Belvoir Road and Carland Road (see traffic pattern graphic below) for almost two years.

Following the traffic pattern setup, work will begin on the northern half of the new railroad overpass. Current Section B construction also includes utility installations and relocations, and excavation for drainage improvements and widening on the north side of Ridge Pike.

Access to businesses within the work area will be maintained during construction.

A travel advisory will be sent to email subscribers and posted on this website once a date for the traffic shift is determined.
